Nora Elizabeth Hughes Woods, died January 13, 1993, in Beaumont. Mrs Woods was born February 7, 1902, in Shelby County, Texas.
Services will be held January 16, at the First Baptist Church in Buna under the direction of EE Stringer Funeral Home with burial at Antioch Cemetery.
Mrs. Woods taught school in Broaddous where she met and married Bruno Woods. They moved to Buna in 1949 where she taught school until her retirement in 1963.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she served as music director and taught Sunday School for many years. She was also active in Eastern Star.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Juantia and Chester Sanders of Nederland, Peggy and Raymond Walters of Buna, Betty and Richard Steel of Baytown and Johnnye and Bert Hardaway of Leesburg; brother, A. H. Hughes of Montgomery, AL; sister, Eunice Davidson of Albuquerque, NM; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
