Evangeline Lamb Best (McDermott) nee Norris, May 4, 1923 ~ April 8, 2016
Born in Greeley, CO to Raymond Leavitt Norris Sr. and Kate Bassett Norris nee Lamb. In 1937 the family (with older brothers, Raymond L. Jr. and Elmer Joy) moved to Wapato, WA. In 1943 she married Michael J. McDermott in Seattle. They were raising 5 children (Merrilee, Jerry, Joe, Susan and John) together until Mike's death in 1972. After 26 years of eventful widowhood she reunited with her high school sweetheart Francis Best and they married in 1998. They were living in Yakima at the time of Francis death in 2007. Beloved by family and friends she was forever active in her faith, church and community.
