Anna D. Grubel age 104, of Upper Sandusky, died at The Inn at Westbrook on Wed. Jan. 24, 2018. She was born on Mar. 14, 1913 to the late Clarence and Nina (Trubey) Lawhead. She married John Grubel on Apr. 9, 1940 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1998. She is survived by her children Beth (Kenneth) McVicker, MI, Keith (Joan) Grubel, IN, Dennis (Nedra) Grubel, CA, a daughter-in-law Carol Grubel, Sycamore, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son Douglas Grubel, an infant son Nelson, sister Ruth Lawhead and an infant sister Janis.
Mrs. Grubel was a 1930 graduate of Carey High School and attended Tiffin Business University. Directly out of school, she was a secretary for Bowling Green State University for 5 years. In addition to assisting her husband on their family farm Mrs. Grubel spend the next 25 years with the Wyandot County Engineers Office. She retired in 1981. She was member of Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville. Mrs. Grubel was a member of the former Eastern Star, McCutchenville, and now a member of Warpole Chapter OES, Upper Sandusky and DAR Wyandot County. She enjoyed baking, crafts, reading, quilting, traveling and visiting her family.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM Tues. Jan. 30, 2018 in Bringman Clark Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM or immediately following the Order of Eastern Star memorial service. Pastor Karen Fraser Moore and Pastor Paul Fraser will officiate. Interment will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E.
