Nancy Jo McIntyre

Mrs Nancy Jo Frappier 78 of Jefferson City Passed away Sunday April 21, 2013 at her home.
Nancy was born August 24, 1934 in Hannibal Mo. the daughter of Charles Wesley and Georgia Belle Donaldson McIntyre. Mr McIntyre was Superintendent of the Hatch Dairy Experimetal Farm, under the auspices of the United States Department of Agriculture and the University of Missouri's Department of Agriculture. Nancy and her brothers loved exploring the woods, climbing trees and riding their spirted pony, Blackie.
Nancy attended Hannibal public schools and received an Associate of Arts Degree from Cottey College for Women in Nevada Mo. and a Bachelor of Journalim Degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia. She was a reporter and wire editor of the United Press Iternational in Dallas Texas and a reporter for the Decatur Hearl and Review newspapers, Decatur ILLINOIS.
In 1960 she married Richard Schanbacher in Hannibal where they lived until moving to St Louis County in 1965. In the St Louis area, Nancy was a self employed public relatins consultant with extensive experience in publicity, promotion and special events for a variety of clients, some on a contract basis with Fleishman Hillard, Inc. She developed the campaign to create the taxing district for the St Louis Zoo, Art Museum and Science Museum and the bond issue for the General Motors Plant in Wentzville Mo.
In 1982 Nancy was contacted by state officials, among the Governor Kit Bond, to organize a non partisan, Nonprofit group of Missouri business leaders to supplement the state's economic development efforts. She named the organization te Hawthorn Foundation after the state flower. She said Hathorn added the "Sizzzle and Flsir" to marketing Missouri for new business. She retired from Hawthorn in 1993.
Nancy Christian faith was very important to her. Se was an elder at the First Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She also served in various officers with the Gamma Phi Beta social sorority, Women in Communications, Chapter BR, PEO in Hannibal nd Chapter HM, PEO in Jefferson City, Cole County Historical Society, Jefferson City Country Club's Ladies Golf Association, Council of the Arts, Century Study Club, The Tuesday Club, Rape and Abuse Crisis Service, and the Capital Region Medical Center Foundation.
She loved to laugh, travel with her husband, read, play golf, cook and most of all be with her family and friends. She enjoyed all types of music, and for many years, she and her husband had season tickets to the St Louis Symphony.
In 1989 she married Jo Henri Frappier.
Survivors include her husband, Jo .Frappier, her children, Andy W. Schanbacher of San Francisco Calif, and Anne Marie(Todd) Hickey of Winter Garden, Florida, three step daughters, Bettina Frappier and husband Jim Piazzza of Trinity Florida, Michelle(Steve) Chumley of New Port Richie FL. and Lisa Frappier of Tampa Florida, Nathan Connor, and Dylan Hickey of Winter Garden Florida. one step granddaughter, Leah Chumley Cole of Phoenix Arizona, one brother, John Donaldson(Karol) McIntyr of Las Vegas Nevada, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, David Wesley McIntyre.
Visitation will be at the First Presbyterian Church from 10-11a.m. Saturday April 27, 2013.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11.m. Saturday April 27, 2013 at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church of Jefferson City or the Capital Region Medical Center Goldschmidt Cancer Center.
