Korean War veteran, son of Leonard and Eusebia (Roberts) Eastman
George Eastman, 81, of Jesup, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at his home from complications of alzheimers.
He was born September 14, 1932, in Conrad, Iowa, son of Leonard and Eusebia Roberts Eastman. He married Patricia Walker on December 6, 1966 in Rock Island, Illinois.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a welder with John Deere, Koering Bantam and then J & L Plumbing. He was a musician in the band George Eastman and the Esquires for over 30 years, and recorded an album in 1975 titled Crooked Little Feet.
Survived by his wife, Patricia of Jesup; three sons, Jeff and Guy Eastman of Waterloo, and Joshua (Michelle) Eastman of La Porte City; five daughters, Pam Simons of Cedar Falls, Phillena of Jesup, Margie Schreiber of Waterloo, Marsy of Independence, and Gina (Kenny) Harkrider of Eldora; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a son, Barry Eastman; a granddaughter, Katie; grandson, Joshy; son-in-law, Paul Schreiber; daughter-in-law, Lori Eastman; two brothers, Jack and Don Eastman; and one sister, Hazel Williamson.
Services 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Service with burial in Hillside Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Military Honors conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49 Honor Guard. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and also for one hour prior to services Tuesday.
