DIGHTON — Pearl R. Bosley, 108, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City.
She was born June 3, 1898, at Wichita, the daughter of William Clinton and Lillie Belle (Mahan) Calhoun.
She married Charles F. Bosley on Sept. 2, 1917, at Elder, Colo.
She lived in Los Angeles until she was 8 years old. The family moved back to Wichita and then homesteaded near Springfield, Colo., in 1915. She and her husband farmed in eastern Colorado and western Kansas until they moved to Dighton in the 1930s.
Pearl was a longtime clerk at the Dighton Livestock Auction.
She enjoyed needlepoint, quilting, playing in the J.O.Y. Band and traveling with friends.
She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dighton.
Survivors include the Rev. Diana Coberly and nine other grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren and six great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Bosley, on April 24, 1958; two sons, Charles C. Bosley and Lewis Earl Bosley; two brothers, Fay Calhoun and Oliver Calhoun; one sister, Devita May Calhoun and one granddaughter, Susan Bosley Osborne.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dighton, with the Rev. Warren Stecklein officiating. Burial will be at Dighton Memorial Cemetery, Dighton. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Theresa
Catholic Church or to J.O.Y. Band in care of Boomhower Funeral Home.
