COTTONDALE | Nedral Lynn Champion McGee, age 55, of Cottondale, Alabama, passed away April 14, 2015, at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham. Service will be at 9 a.m. at First Wesleyan Church on April 18, 2015, with Pastor Joel Gorveatte and Pastor John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be April 17, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Jeryl Dean Champion.
Survivors include her sons, James Marc McGee (Heather) and Jon Wesley McGee (Deana); brother, Nathan Champion (Krista); nieces, Allie and Mary Evelyn; father, James T. Champion; grandchildren, Emalee, Aiden, Ryder and Estes; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Nedral was born September 15, 1959, in Tuscaloosa to James and Jeryl Dean Champion. She graduated from Holt High School where she was known for her exceptional athletic abilities on the softball field and cheerleading squad. Most people knew her as a caregiver where she found her calling in nursing. Her compassionate and joyful heart made it hard for families, friends, and those she cared for to forget Nedral. Above all, her joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. In addition to helping others, she devoted her life to her two sons and their children. Her family and friends will miss her infectious laugh, radiating smile, and love for life most of all, and they pray her positivity and love for the Lord continues to bless and live through those whom she met and who knew her.
Pallbearers will be Nick Bostick, Jeremy Brewer, Drew Estes, Chris Foster, Brett Hall, ___ Howard, Matt Hyche, Todd Johnson, Dusty Lee, Jason McGee, Mike McMillian, Ronnie McMillian, and Russell Sellers.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of First Wesleyan Church; staff, co-workers, and close friends at NHS Management, LLC; and karaoke friends.
