Relda Mae Brinson

Relda Brinson Sale, 72, of Midland, Texas passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at home surrounded by her family, after a prolonged battle with cancer.
She was born August 4, 1938 to Homer Lee Brinson and Anna Mae (Wright) Brinson in El Dorado, Arkansas.
After growing up in El Dorado, Arkansas and Graham, Texas, the family moved to Midland, Texas in 1950. Relda graduated from Midland HS in 1956 and continued her education at Baylor University receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Drama in 1960. During this time she enjoyed performing in numerous productions at Midland Community Theater. After college Relda moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and began her career as a real estate developer. She led the development of Twin Lakes Subdivision and constructed over 200 homes from 1961 to 1966. It was in Little Rock where she met her husband of 44 years, Ray Sale. In 1967 they moved to Tucson, Arizona and then returned to Midland, Texas in 1972. From 1972 until her passing Relda was an investor in the petroleum industry, as well as a partner with Ray in owning Builders and Homeowners Supply. Her memberships included the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Relda was a mother, a wife, and a gifted artist who loved to travel all over the world with her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Sale of Midland, TX; son, Lee Sale of Midland, TX; daughter Lebette Sale Hostetler and husband Lt Col (USAF) Monty Hostetler of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Vaughn Brinson and wife Ruth of Carrolton, TX; and brother, Dolan Brinson and wife Sharon of Rochester, TX. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home on Wednesday August 18th, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday August 19, 2010 at Christian Life Center; the same church she was married in and where her children were dedicated. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
