Rev. Tarlton Farris Holcombe

Tarlton Farris Holcombe was born to Hosea "Lott" Holcombe (1780-1841) and Cassandra Jackson Holcombe (1780-1848) in Cross Keys, South Carolina. He moved with his family when they migrated to Jonesboro, Jefferson County, Alabama. In 1827 he married Rhoda S. Mundine. About 1845, Tarlton was a founder of the Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea, and continued as its preacher until his death in 1888.
Rev. Holcombe and wife Rhoda had eight children: Eliza M. (1829-1906), Hosea A. (1831-1863), Abijah Chapman (1832-1862), Cassandra Ann (1834-1886), Henry C. (1836-1864), Martha Emeline (1837-1922), James S. (1839-1864) and John W (1844- ).
