William Henry Wilbanks
(7 Dec 1810 - 12 Feb 1902)
William Henry Wilbanks was born in Spartanburg District, SC and is the son of John Wilbanks (1785-1878) and Martha B. Smith (1794-1824). He married (1st) Margaret Head (1818-1849, daughter of Philemon Waters Head and Ann Pratt) between 1831-1834. He married (2nd) Pheobe Young (1835-1900, daughter of David Young and Susannah Townsend) on 5 Mar 1852 in Cherokee County, Georgia.
William served in the Confederate Army for about two years, then in 1864 he joined up with the Union Army. He received a pension for his service in the Union Army.

Joyce A. Rex in 1996 compiled a 62 page book entitled "William Henry Wilbanks (1810-1902) His Ancestors, Life and Children" which covers a lot about his life and ancestors. She is now deceased, but had lived in Purcell, Oklahoma. One can view her FAG memorial at #123342452.
