Mr. Robert Leon Moffett, age 87 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016.
Born December 2, 1928 in Cypress Creek, Louisiana, he was a retired Winn Parish school bus driver for Dodson High School. He also was a pulpwood hauler, worked at a plywood plant and at Howard’s Conaco. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Mr. Moffett was preceded in death by his parents, Hubbard Neander and Lou Auborn Borden Moffett; brother, John Linwood Moffett; son-in-law, Edward L. "Butch" Hendley; daughter-in-law, Shelia Gail Wise Moffett.
Those left to cherish his memory include his Wife of 68 years whom he married April 14, 1948, Elnora Collins Moffett, Dodson; Sons, James Raymond Moffett (Sheila), Bastrop, Robert Waynon Moffett, Dodson and George Hubbard Moffett, Dodson; Daughters, Lenora Lynn Hendley, Dodson, Lynda Joyce Robertson (Gary), Dodson and Lisa Timmons, Dry Prong; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18 at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Saturday, March 19 at Cypress Creek Baptist Church, from 12:00 PM until time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Cypress Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Nick Verrett and Rev. Ronny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Creek Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.
