Son of Elisha Paschal "Pack" & Barbara A. (GALLOPS) GREER. Married ca. 1907 to Maude Belle STONE (she married second to Marion W. GALLOPS). Father of four children, one of whom predeceased him.

"TWO MEN BADLY INJURED; RESULT OF AUTO SMASH: Frank GREER and Frank WILLIAMS Sustain Painful Injuries When Auto Turns Turtle--Accident Occurred on Buena Vista Road. // As the result of an automobile accident about a mile outon the Buena Vista road last night about 11:45 o'clock, Frank GREER and Frank WILLIAMS are at the hospital painfully injured. The injuries suffered by the young men although quite painful will not prove serious, the former having his shoulder dislocated, while the latter sustained a deep gash in his leg. // Car Turned Turtle. // The two young men, residents of Eelbeck's Mill, were returning to their home last night from Columbus, when the driver lost control of the Ford car, and it turned turtle. // Three of the four passengers were thrown to the ground while the third [sic - fourth], GREER, was pinned underneath the automobile. Only two were hurt. // Doc BROOKS, near whose place the accident occurred, was soon on the scene and brought the injured men to the city in his car, they being taken to Dr. BAKER's office, from which place they were taken tot he city hospital and treated. "AUTO ACCIDENT COSTS LIFE: Frank GREER, of Muscogee County, Expires at Columbus Hospital. // COLUMBUS, Dec. 4--Frank GREER, a resident of Muscogee [sic] county , died at the city hospital shortly after 5 o'clock this afternoon from complications brought on by an automobile accident near here Sunday when he sustained a dislocated shoulder. The deceased's heart was affected and he did not rally after the accident. Frank WILLIAMS and H. B. TUCKER and CULPEPPER [no first name reported] were with GREER at the time of the accident, but were only slightly injured." [Macon (GA) Daily Telegraph newspaper, Monday, 04 DEC 1916, p. 6.]

"FRANK GREER DIED AT THE CITY HOSPITAL: Victim of Auto Accident on Buena Vista Road Sunday Night Succumbs to Complications--William Discharged Today. // Frank GREER, one of the men injured on the automobile accident on the Buena Vista road Sunday night, when a Ford car driven by H. B. TUCKER turned turtle, died at the city hospital yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock of complications that arose following the accident. He was a resident of Old Pine Knot Springs, Ga., about six miles south of the city. // As was stated in yesterday morning's Enquirer-Sun, Frank GREER and Frank WILLIAMS were taken to the hospital, following the accident which occurred at about 11:45 o'clock. Dr. BAKER was summoned and treated the injured men. // Mr. GREER's shoulder was dislocated, while a deep gash was cut in the other man's leg. It was stated at the hospital shortly after the men were taken there that they were not in a serious condition and news of the death of Mr. GREER will be learned as a surprise, and a distinct shock to his many friends of this section. Mr. WILLIAMS was released yesterday afternoon. // It was stated last night that the injury was not the cause of the death but that he died as the result of comlications that arose. // The deceased man, who was thirty years of age, is survived by his wife; three children: Mattie, Eddie, and an infant [Luther Charlie]; his mother and father: Mr. and Mrs. Pack GREER; five sisters: Misses Mollie, Alice and Mattie GREER and Mrs. Gussie JENKINS and Mrs. Edna ROBINSON [and three brothers: Henry Caleb "Harry," George Pashcal, and John M. "Jonnie" GREER]. // The body was taken from the hospital yesterday afternoon to Herring and Knight's undertaking establishment, where it was prepared for burial. It was taken to his late home last night late by private conveyance. The funeral will be held from the home some time today, the hour having not yet been set, and the interment will follow in Johnson's burial grounds."
