LUBBOCK - Vada Lois Graham DeWitt, 86, of Lubbock passed away April 18, 2012. Vada was born Feb. 9, 1926, to parents Robbie and Wanda Graham. Vada was a graduate of Lubbock High School and attended Texas Tech University, where she was on the Dean's List. Vada was a longtime member of Broadway Church of Christ, the Lubbock Garden Club, Lubbock Women's Club, and past president of the American Institute of Architecture Auxiliary. Vada was a generous and caring person to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Talmage DeWitt; a daughter, Nancy DeWitt, both of Lubbock; a sister, Tille Miller of Nacogdoches; five grandchildren, Zeke Bidwell of Denton, Marc Johnson of Ft. Worth, John Frier of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jessica Alexander of Lubbock and Taylor Morrow of Ft. Worth; as well as two great-grandchildren, Lillie and William Alexander Jr., and an upcoming baby, Jack Johnson. Those who preceded her in death are her parents, Robbie and Wanda Graham; a brother, Ray Donald Graham; a daughter, Gail DeWitt Frier; and a great-grandchild, Marc Johnson Jr.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Sanders Funeral Home with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials be made to Pet Haven, 4501 North FM 1729, Lubbock, TX 79403.
