Linda Kay Phillips was born May 29, 1948 in Kaufman, Texas, the daughter of R. D. Russell and Bailey Bernice Teel Russell. Her dad died while she was a baby and her mom, Bernice Bland and Mason Bland raised her. She was raised in Kaufman and graduated from Kaufman High School in 1966. On October 13, 1969, she married Timothy Eric Phillips in Kaufman. Linda was employed by Citizens Bank in Kaufman for eleven years and for Wills Point ISD for twelve years, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed playing bingo and working crosword puzzles. Linda lived in Wills Point twenty-seven years prior to moving to Terrell in 2005. She attended Lakeshore Church in Rockwall.
She passed away Friday afternoon, March 8, 2013 in a Dallas hospital.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, R. D. Russell, Bernice Russell Bland and Mason Bland, and husband, Tim Phillips on January 21, 2005.
Survivors are son: Tim Phillips & wife, Mary of Scurry, Texas, and daughters Brandy Phillips of Terrell, Texas and Tiffany Phillips of Kaufman, Texas. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Erika & Colton Douthitt, Marissa Johnson, and Mason & Ryan Phillips.
