Leone Annette Langford

Joint funeral services for Mrs. Leon (Julia) Langford and her daughter, Annette, were held Friday morning, June 1 at Farwell First Baptist Church with Rev. Cliff Ennen, pastor and rev. Richard Sutherland, pastor at Central Christian Church in Clovis officiating. Burial was at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery with Steed-Todd Funeral Home in charge.
Annette and her mother, Mrs. Leon Langford, were killed Wednesday afternoon, May 30, after their late-model car and a Farwell Equipment Co. truck were involved in a wreck six miles north of the twin cities.
Annette, 11, was born September 12, 1961, in Clovis. She had just completed the fifth grade at Farwell Elementary School and was a member of the elementary band. She had been involved in the Parmer County 4-H program for two years as a member of Farwell 4-H club. She recently won second in Public Speaking in a District 4-H Eliminations contest and won a blue ribbon at Parmer County Eliminations Contest. She had also participated during her years in 4-H in sewing and cooking contests. She exhibited the champion steer at both the Parmer County and Farwell Junior Livestock Shows this past fall. She also had experience exhibiting livestock at several other shows.
She is survived by her dad, Leon; sister, Jacquelyn; and brother, Mac; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Kelso of Bovina and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Langford, Texico; great-grandparents, Mrs. Dollie Barker, Texico; Mrs. Maude Kelso, Tulia; and J.M. Langford, Hereford; she was preceded in death by a brother, Russell.
Pallbearers for the services were Gilbert Kaltwasser, Paul Davis, Dean Boyd, Joe Helton, Noel Daugherty, A.M. Wilson, Roy Snodgrass, Glenn Kelley, Travis Dyer, Bill Stone, Loyd Snow and Ray Ford.
