Jeffrey Chad “Jeff” Middleton, 57, of Verda, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016, following a long illness. Born November 14, 1958 in Harlan County, he had lived here all of his life. He was a disabled coal miner having worked at Manalapan Mining Company.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Sue Bruner Middleton Thomas and Green Bailey Middleton; a sister, Bronwyn Middleton Smith; and two brothers, Henry Steve Middleton and Richard Middleton.
Survivors include four children, Brandie Taylor and husband, Robby, Mt. Vernon, KY; Joyce Noe and husband, Anthony, Baxter; Shane Middleton and Haley Middleton, both of Corbin; three brothers, Green Bailey “Robin” Middleton III and wife, Jackie, Florida; Billy Joe Middleton, Verda; and Mike Middleton and wife, Tina, East Bernstadt, KY. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Hunter and Joshua Noe, Baylee and Hannah Taylor; his former wife, Debbie Wynn Middleton, Verda; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 9, 2016, at 1 pm in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Howard and the Reverend Jerry Kirby officiating.
Burial will follow in the Middleton Family Cemetery at Jones Creek with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Evarts Funeral Home is in charge of his arrangements.
