Jean Lewis Powell

Jean L. Powell was born June 24, 1925 in Paris Texas to Mr. and Mrs. James L. Powell. He passed away peacefully on February 15, 2015.
He was a land surveyor most of his life for Mobil-Exxon and had the opportunity to travel extensively as part of his job. He lived in the Ables Springs community near Terrell, Texas until his health declined. He served in the Navy during WWII and attended the University of Texas before starting his career as a surveyor.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Judith Meier Powell. They enjoyed travelling together most of their lives together, and also spent a lot of time with his “tree farm” in Blackjack, Texas.
He is survived by two nephews, and two nieces and several great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery in Paris, Texas.
