Heaven has gained a strong man with a big heart and to many a hero. On the morning of November 23, 2015 Jerry Wayne Young, 64, of Healdton Oklahoma was called home following a sudden illness. Jerry was born to Junior Young and Josephine (Wadkins) Young on February 19, 1951, at Lindley Hospital in Duncan Oklahoma. A resident of the Fox, Graham, and Healdton area all his life, he graduated from Graham High School in May of 1970 and then married the love of his life Donna Kay Mefford at Graham Baptist Church on June 5, 1970.

Jerry was employed by Vickers Petroleum, Total, Diamond Shamrock, Valero, and NuStar for an accumulated total of 30+ years until he was required to take medical retirement in 2007. Jerry loved to tinker with things always tearing things apart and rebuilding them. He always said as long as you have some bailing wire, duct tape, and a little glue you could fix anything. He was a self taught mechanic and craftsman that took his work very serious and would only accept perfection. He lived everyday to the fullest and was always bragging on this grandkids and great-grandkids to everyone he met.

There to greet him as he entered the gates of heaven were his mother and father, grandparents Jewell and Bill Wadkins and Mandy and Jim Young, a brother Troy Young, nephew Joey Young, and great-grandson Dante Kade.

Jerry is survived by his wife Donna of the home, daughter Sharon Bailey and husband David, daughter Shelley Hunt and husband Steve all of Healdton; grandchildren Marissa (Bailey) McReynolds and husband Jon of Del City, Candace (Bailey) Searcy and husband Phillip of Healdton, Lendsey (Bailey) Weaver and husband David of Healdton, Brandon Hunt and Allen Hunt of Healdton; great grand-children Axel, Aydan, and Aariah Searcy, Connor McReynolds, Brooklyn Butcher, Patrick and Jimmy Weaver; sister Patty (Young) Sellers and husband Melvin of Graham; special friend/brother Carl May and wife Cathy of Delaware; and his four legged kids Dutchess and Tequila along with a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memories forever.

A Celebration of the Life of Jerry Wayne Young will be at 2 pm Wednesday November 25, 2015, at the Graham Baptist Church officiated by Ronnie Mefford and Jack Mefford. Burial will be at the Graham Cemetery with the assistance of pallbearers/co-workers Bob Rickard, Chet Howell, Leo Abrams, Toby Price, Clinton Owens, Leo Lambert, Leonard Jones, Paul Hull and David Stewart. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home in Healdton.
