JUANITA FLETCHER JONES passed from this life Monday, December 9, 2002, in the Meridian Nursing Home.
She was born October 11, 1921, in Walters, to Elmer and Alice Fletcher. She was a graduate of Empire High School. Mrs. Jones was a nurses' aide and a homemaker, and also worked for various drug stores. She and John Henry Jones were united in marriage on May 10, 1946, in Ardmore. She was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
Survivors include her husband, John Henry Jones of the Meridian Nursing Home; two sons, John E. and Judith Jones of Raleigh, N.C., and Jim D. Jones of Wyoming; three brothers, Kenneth and Joan Fletcher of Midland, Texas, Richard and Hazel Fletcher of Walters, and Ray and Sylvia Fletcher of Brownwood, Texas; and one sister, Betty Lawson of Walters.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Bradley Fletcher and Alice Newsom Fletcher, and two sisters, Katherine Gore and Elsie Spence.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones were at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 14, in the Highland Park Baptist Church, with Winston Curtis officiating. Burial was in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
