FLOYD, RAY DEAN, Went to be with his heavenly Father on September 20, 2005. He was born in Amarillo, Texas on August 10, 1928 to Robert Floyd and Mattie Lou Box and passed away after a long illness ending with congestive heart failure. Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Geneva Floyd, mother, father and 2 brothers Billy and Joe Bob who was killed in Okinawa during WWII and 1 sister-in-law, Oleta. He is survived by 3 children, Danny Floyd, Donna Elliott and Sheila Rickman; 3 grandchildren, Christy Harder Deal, Brian Harder and Jerry Elliott; one great granddaughter, Daisy Vaught; one brother-in-law, Houston Dickerson and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ray was loved by everyone who knew him. He retired from ICX after 35 years of service. He attended Forest Avenue High School in the early 40's, served in the U.S. Army Air Corp following WWII. He is a life long resident of Dallas and Farmers Branch. Memorial services will be held on Saturday afternoon, located at 2030 Shenandoah Drive, Carrollton, Tx at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be sent to the American Heart Association.
