FORT WORTH - John W. "Cowboy" Knight, 58, an automotive paint salesman for Finish Master and a former Fort Worth fireman, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth.
Memorials: American Cancer Society or Muscular Dystrophy Association.
John W. "Cowboy" Knight was born Nov. 27, 1940, in Fort Worth, and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Technical High School in 1960. After 18 years with the Fort Worth Fire Department, he became a fulltime paint supply salesman. His customers gave him the nickname "Cowboy". He loved being at his lake house and bass fishing. He was a lifelong member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and PaPa, and we love and will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Onis A. Knight Sr., and by his mother, Alice F. Knight.
Survivors: Wife of 38 years, Margie Knight of Fort Worth; three sons, Russell Knight of Fort Worth, Rodney Knight, Judd Knight, both of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Regena Scott and David of Fort Worth; brother, O.A. Knight Jr. of Hurst; three grandsons, Jonathan, Michael, Aaron Scott of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Brenna Knight of Fort Worth; and is also survived by his beloved dog, "Zak".
