EPHRAIM BUTRAM is among the most prominent preachers in this body He is of a numerous and reputable family, of his name, in Wayne County, where he was raised up to the ministry, in Pleasant Hill church. After preaching, several years, among the churches of South Concord Association, he moved to Barren county, and settled a few miles south of Glasgow, not far from the year 1854. Here he united with Mt. Pleasant church, and thus became identified with Original Barren River Association, which is of the same faith and order of South Concord. Among the churches of this fraternity, he has been an active laborer, about thirty years, and is held in high esteem by his brethren and the people generally, among whom he preaches.

She was born April 23, 1838 in KY and died August 3, 1915 in Barren County, KY, daughter of George Fisher and Lucy Peden.
•2. Martha Bertram born November 6, 1838 in Wayne County, KY and died September 22, 1921 in Barren County, KY. She married Robert William Barbour in 1858.
•3. Jasper Newton Bertram born March 21, 1840 in Wayne County, KY and died July 1, 1928 in King County, WA. He married Mary "Polly Ann" Garrett on January 1, 1866 in Overton County, TN.
•4. Dennis H. Bertram born 1841 in Wayne County, KY. He married Julia Ann Hudson and Sadie Marcum.
•5. Shelby Bertram born 1844 in Wayne County, KY. He married Martha Jane Flowers.
•6. Lousetta Bertram born 1846 in Wayne County, KY. She married William Robert Kinslow on August 16, 1864 in Barren County, KY.

Notes
Ephraim Bertram was my 4th Great-Grandfather. Although in the source below he is listed as Butram, his name was Bertram. Butram/Buttram were used previously for this family. He was a circuit minister, therefore he performed many marriages in Barren, Warren, Wayne and Christian Counties.
