Betty A. Herring, 83, Marion, died at 12:20 pm, on Sunday, March 15, 2015, in her residence. She was born in Evansville, and was the adopted daughter of Lem and Bonnie (Scott) Vaughn. She married James W. Herring in 1949; he survives.
Betty was a pastor’s wife and homemaker, and loved to pray for the sick. She often made special visits to hospitals and homes.
Along with her husband James, Betty is survived by her daughters, Judith Henry, Des Moines, IA, and Deborah (Harold) Jenkins, Marion; grandchildren, Jonathan and Adam Ohrt, Tiffany Jenkins, Ashley (Alex Finch) Jenkins, Shane (Janet) Jeffries, and Tracie (Steve) Runyon, as well as 8 great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Patricia Jefferies.
Services for Betty will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. Marion, IN 46952, with Harvey Herring officiating. Her final resting place will be in Gardens of Memory.
