Evelyn Grace Juhnke, 84, of Lebanon passed away Thursday at The Oaks.
She was born in Curtis, Neb., to William and Elsie (Burton) Montgomery.
She came to Oregon as a young girl with her mother, Elsie, and stepfather, Harry Duering. She attended Reed Grade School, graduated from Lebanon High School in the class of '42, and then attended Monmouth College.
Evelyn married Ralph Juhnke in Vancouver, Wash., in 1946. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Ralph passed away in 1997.
She had worked as a flagger with the state highway department, in a yarn shop and as a waitress, and had also been a knitting instructor.
Her passions were knitting and playing pinochle.
She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Worsham of Virginia Beach, Va., Ruth Sommerson and husband Don of Toledo, and Virginia and Ken Dunmyer of Lebanon.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother Bert.
A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 24 at The Oaks in Lebanon.
