Bobby Glen Jackson October 23, 1947 - January 2, 2007 Bobby G. Jackson, age 59, of Grand Junction, CO, passed away on January 2, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on October 23, 1947 in Hot Springs, AR, the son of George and Dorothy (Boone) Jackson. He married Brenda Russell on June 8, 1968. Bobby was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War where he received several medals and a Purple Heart. He retired from the military and was then employed with the Mesa County Sheriffs Department until his retirement in 2005. Bobby enjoyed fishing, boating and loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will be missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Brenda of Grand Junction, three daughters; Sabrena Jackson of Mack, Kristina (Kelly) Haws of Fruita, and Jessica Jackson of Highlands Ranch, CO, a brother, John Jackson of Hot Springs, AR, three sisters; Shirley Jackson, Rita (Jim) Hamather and Norma Sue (Larry) Moore all of Lansing, MI, eight grandchildren; Christopher, Amanda, Patricia and Melissa Jackson, Aaron and Kelsey Norton, Kylee Haws and Makayley Jackson. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2007 at Fellowship Church. A visitation will be Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the service time. A reception will follow at the church. Military honors will be provided by the Grand Valley Combined Honor Guard. The Mesa County Sheriffs Department Honor Guard will be in attendance. Burial will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado on Monday, January 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of your choice.
