Funeral services for James Wayne "Jim" McGuire, 85, will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Crescent. Jim passed away, surrounded by family, on the morning of March 15 in his daughter's home in Perkins, OK. Jim was born Oct. 14, 1932, in Crescent, OK to Rosemond (Herron) and Matthew Thomas McGuire. He was the youngest of five siblings. Jim graduated from Crescent High School in 1950. He was enlisted in the Navy from 1951 to 1955. He started working for Fleck Bearing in OKC when he met and then married his wife, Lou Ann Anderson, April 13, 1962. Their first child, Marla Ann McGuire, was born on Feb. 17, 1963. She lived only five days and passed away Feb. 21, 1963. As a young man, he accepted Christ as his Savior; he served in the church and was a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Crescent for many years. They were blessed with two more children, Laura Ann, born June 16, 1964, and Pamela Helen, born Nov. 5, 1968. Jim went to work for Allied Bearing Supply Company in 1970 and was with them until he retired in 1997. The family moved back to Crescent in 1975. He was married to his wife, Lou Ann, for 34 years and was by her side until she passed away May 6, 1996. In retirement, he worked part time in the Pro Shop at Cedar Valley Golf Course in Guthrie, OK. He enjoyed many years of golfing, yard work and traveling to visit dear friends and family. He loved spending time with and going to activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving, devoted brother, uncle, cousin and lifelong friend to so many. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Ann Clark & husband Michael, of Perkins, OK; and Pamela Helen Estes & her husband Eric, Fayetteville, AR; and grandchildren, Marla Ann Barnard & her husband Justin, Joshua Clark & his wife Lauren, Robyn Bain & her husband Paul, Stephanie Roach & her husband Justin, Christopher James Estes, and Ryan Estes. He also has 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all.
