Charles Donald Evensizer was born on September 27, 1921 in Cando North Dakota to Charles and Celia (Pitmon) Evensizer. He passed away on January 5, 2015 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 93.
Charles served in the United States Army as a truck driver and marksman during the campaign in the Aleutian Islands. He enjoyed building and working with his hands. After his service in the military Charles worked in the construction industry and spent his time on building projects for his family including a woodshed and carport for his daughter. Charles has attended the 1st Orthodox Presbyterian Church for twenty years.
He liked animals and was known to keep horses, cows, chickens and pigs when he lived in the country. He also loved to whistle while he worked, whether outside doing yard work or working on a building project he could always be heard whistling a happy tune.
Charles is predeceased by his parents and four siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife Ruth Evensizer; his son Don Evensizer; his daughter Terrie Evensizer; his grandchildren Joe and Skye and his great-grandchild Henry.
A committal service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd., Portland, OR 97086.
