Jeffrey Machen Cosby, 55, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017, surrounded by his family and friends.
Jeff was born on November 6, 1961 to Mabel and Ozy Cosby at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Jeff enjoyed his early years spending time at the Columbus Boys Club. He graduated from Jordan High School in Columbus, GA and attended Auburn University and Pensacola Junior College.
Jeff worked for Royal Cup Coffee for 27 years where he was named Manager of the Year and Territory Manager of the Year. He received the Bill Bolus Honorary Heart of the Lion award in 2014.
Jeff was a member of the Krewe of Lafitte, Fiesta of Five Flags and Fiesta Conquistadors. He was on the Krewe of Lafitte Court in 2005, a Knight in the Fiesta Court in 2007 and was Aide de Camp to Lafitte LXVI.
Jeff is survived by his wife and soul mate, Mary Lou Cosby; favorite daughter, Brittany Cosby Esser (Mitch); parents, Mabel and Ozy Cosby; brothers, James Cosby (Janel), Donnie Cosby (Darlene) and Barry Cosby (Ginger); sisters, Cathy Evans (Bill), Pam Mickle (Benny), Carol Allen, Faye Cosby and Kim Clark; stepsons, Michael Pyle and Christopher Pyle (fiancé, Christina Baraty) and special friends, Sammie and Newman Rodgers and Dick Brittain.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Christ Episcopal Church with Father Michael Hoffman officiating.
The family would like to give a special thanks to: Dr. Sunnenburg and staff at Sacred Heart Oncology, the nurses back in chemotherapy, especially Lois Gaston and the nurses on St. Catherine’s floor.
