Velma Moore
(25 Dec 1906 - 16 Jan 1998)
There were two women named Velma Moore born in Alabama in the first decade of the 20th century.
1. Velma E. Moore [L1NP-FTY], b. 23 Dec 1903 in Alabama. Daughter of Samuel L. Moore (Jun 1877 - 5 Jun 1965) and Mattie Luvicia Tidmore (24 May 1883 - Dec 1978)
2. Velma Moore, b. 25 Dec 1906 in Alabama. Daughter of John T. Moore (18 Jun 1874 - 23 May 1947) and Ada Estelle Bryant (25 Nov 1880 – 26 Nov 1957)
The fact that these are two different people is evidenced by the 1910 census, in which each Velma is living with her respective parents.

On FamilySearch Family Tree, the first Velma [L1NP-FTY], is linked as wife to Mr. Leonard Frank Underwood [MWXZ-V87]. However, this is an error; he was married to the second Velma. The evidence is not only in their different dates of birth but also in the 1930 census. In 1930, Velma’s brother (John) Watson Moore was living in the household with Leonard and Velma. John Watson Moore, and therefore also his sister Velma, are unquestionably the children of John T. Moore and Ada Estelle Bryant because these parents are named in the marriage record of John Watson Moore and his wife. In addition, Velma and Watson are living with their parents in the 1920 census.
