Individual Details
James Junior Ross
(5 Oct 1922 - 14 Dec 1957)
Born in Grit to James Nathaniel Ross and Pearl Mae Rose. Their oldest son.
Husband of Winnie Lucile Newsom, Father to Judy Ann Ross and Carroll Jean Ross.
He went to have his tonsils removed at Dallas Osteopathic Hospital and was doing fine. The next day Mother went to visit him and he was dead and gone. She said as she went in nurses were running around saying they gave a shot to the wrong person. They sent his body out as an unknown like a homeless person. They said some old gray haired lady came and retrieved his person belongings such as his clothes and billfold. The hospital did not know where he was so Mom had to track him down by calling all funeral homes as they took turns in burial of persons unknown. He was found in North Dallas at a funeral home. She had him brought to Moore Funeral home in Grand Prairie then transferred to East Texas. Marvin Meineker was hired to investigate but could not find anything.
We know that one of the men in the same room as Dad was, Ed Turner. We have never closed this issue although we can not change what happened something just was not right. Dad worked for Chance Vought and he had the insurance so we know they were paid for the service they rendered so how did they consider him an unknown. Lots of unanswered questions. This photo is from his work badge, it is the only one available at the time.
