Mary Salome Wagner

A resident of Brillion for over fifty-three years, Mrs. Mary Schwaller died at her home in this city last Monday.
The deceased has been in invalid for several years, bearing her sufferings with great fortitude, the devotion of her children helping to lighten her burden, and the end came peacefully.
She was born at Burlington, Wis., in 1862. In 1883 she was united in marriage to Anton F. Schwaller and the couple came to Brillion to live and this city has since been their home. Her beloved husband preceded her in death, his demise occurring in 1932.
During his lifetime in Brillion he conducted a barber shop here, which is now conducted by his son, Joseph N. Schwaller. He also dealt in real estate and musical instruments in the present Schwaller block. During the difficult pioneering years and throughout their married life, Mrs. Schwaller was a loyal helpmeet. A member of St. Mary’s congregation she was an active member of the Christian Mothers and the Third Order of Appleton.
She is survived by ten children, five sons and five daughters. The sons are Anton Schwaller of Little Elkhart, Joseph N. Schwaller of here, Norbert of Green Bay, Raymond of Appleton and William of Clintonville. The daughters are Mrs. Lillian Werner of Appleton, Mrs. Clara Neumeyer of here, Mrs. Marie Schelby of Sheboygan, Misses Hilda and Mildred at home. There is one brother, William Wagner of Chicago.
The funeral was held Thursday, services being conducted by Rev. Fr. Krause. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery here.
