Marigold Fern "Goldie" Lindsey

Marigold Goldie F. (Lindsey) Mihm, 93, of Cook, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at the Cook Nursing Home.
She was born on May 31, 1909, in Linden Grove Township, the daughter of George and Mary (OToole) Lindsey. She grew up in on the family homestead in Meadowbrook, an area in Linden Grove Township. She was united in marriage to Archie Mihm on June 28, 1929, in Buhl, where the couple resided for a time. They lived in Gilbert for 4 years, and Goldie had lived in which she fondly called the white house on the hill north of Cook for nearly 70 years. She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Cook, and served for many years with its Congregational Womens Fellowship group. Goldie was a telephone operator for the former Pioneer Telephone Company in Cook during the 1950s. She also had been employed at the Cook Christmas Tree Factory, and as head housekeeper for Pehrsons Lodge on Lake Vermilion. Goldie was an exceptional seamstress, loved gardening, enjoyed taking walks, was an avid reader, and a determined crossword puzzle solver. She also made quilts, and braided rugs on her loom. She had recently been making her residence at the Cook Nursing Home.
She is survived by a son, Jerry (Nancy); two daughters: Carol Hill, and Jill (Forrest) Douglas; a sister, Olive (Clifford) Rasch; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, four great-greatgrandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie, on May 6, 1958; six sisters: Violet Mellak, Lily Thon, Pansy Starkovich, Myrtle Mann, Gladys Palma and Rose Lindsey, who died in adolescence, and two brothers, Howard and George Lindsey.
Inurnment will be in the Cook Community Cemetery.
