Daughter of Ellis Verdine 'EV' Hamby and late Marjorie Oneta Clevenger Hamby of Nacogdoches, Nacogdoches, Texas. She had one brother:
Terry Layne Hamby and wife Helen Davis Hamby of Nacogdoches
Step-mother Maxine Hazel Collins Waddell Hamby of Nacogdoches Texas and step - siblings:
1. LeGrange Hank Waddell of Ausin/ Karen Alexander 
2. Hamilton Hunt Waddell of Virginia/ Susan Mott 
3. Holly Elizabeth Waddell of Houston
She met and fell in love with a local boy Christopher Lynn Chris Massey son of the late John Arville Massey and late Dorothy Kathleen Christopher and late Step dad Ross Vaughn all of Gravel Ridge Community, Nacogdoches. Chris and Kaye were married July 4, 1970 at the College Heights Baptist Church in Nacogdoches. They lived in Oklahoma and Florida while Chris was in school. Moved back to Texas where they had two sons. 
1. Christopher Hamby Cam Massey and Jessica R Jones of Houston
2. Michael Chaye Massey and Constance Louise Connie Cox of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Mama Kaye loved her family and her sons were the light of her eyes. She was so happy when her boys married and gave her two sweet daughters in laws which she loved dearly.And so excited about getting a grandbaby. She and Chris loved the outdoors fishing and deer hunting. We had lots of good times together with her family and our children going to sports events, camping, fishing and coming to her house for the holidays and family get togethers. She worked for the NISD school in Nacogdoches for 20 years. She will be greatly missed by all.
