Ernst Thomas Ditlev Voss

Ernst Thomas Voss, 76, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, in Florence, S.C. He was a native of Denmark, retired from Union Carbide having served as a chemical engineer and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a former business columnist with The Daily Star and a volunteer of the local chapter of SCORE. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gray Voss of Hammond; two sons, Patrick Voss of New Orleans and Matthew Voss of New London, Pa.; one daughter, Kathleen V. Lowry of Florence, S.C.; one brother, Fritz Voss of Denmark; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilhelm Holger and Kathleen Heffemen Von Voss. Visitation will be Friday at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 5 until 9 p.m. and Saturday at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church from 9 a.m. until the Rev. Paul M. Bailey conducts the funeral at 10. Burial will be in Rose Memorial Cemetery, Hammond.
