Carolyn and her husband Ernie were long time residents of Hammond, LA. While there, they were active members of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church.
Carolyn was an active gardener and seashell collector in her adult years. She was a member of the Louisiana Malacological Society and enjoyed traveling extensively with this group insearch of rare seashells. While residing in Bahia, Brazil, during the 1980s she discovered a seashell that had never been catalogued before. With the assistance of Emily Volkes, this seashell was subsequently catalogued and named "Chicoreus (Seratus) Carolynae."
Friends will be received Sunday, September 2, 2007, at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A church service will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by a graveside ceremony in Rose Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Paul Bailey officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request gifts be made to Grace Memorial Episcopal Church 100 West Church St. Hammond LA. 70401.
