Barbara J. Laing, 44, of Harrison, died Friday, Oct. 18, in the Clare Nursing Home following a long illness. Born in Detroit June 19, 1941, she moved to Clare County in 1980. She was a cashier at Ashcraft's Food Center and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The former Barbara Jane, she was married to Ron Laing Dec. 31, 1959, in Waterford.

Besides her husband, she is survived by 3 sons, Daniel at home, Ron of Kalkaska and David of Georgia; her mother, Wanda Jane of Arizona; one brother, Leon of Arizona; and 2 granddaughters.

Rites were held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. Father Donald Christenson officiated and burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Sisson-Mathews Funeral Home. Gladwin County Record dated 10-23/1985 Column – 4 Page – 2.
