Essie Vaden

Essie Vaden Daniel, 84, died May 30, 2006, of natural causes in Klamath Falls after a lengthy illness. 
Mrs. Daniel was born on Oct. 24, 1921, in Andrews, Texas, to Henry and Lydia (Williams) Vaden. She was the youngest of their four children. 
The family moved to Klamath Falls in 1938 and she graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1939. 
She worked at Mallory's Market and Wytal's, a local dress shop. 
In 1946, she returned to Texas, where she met Emil Day "Dan" Daniel, and they were married on Oct. 5, 1946, in Odessa, Texas. 
They moved to Oregon in 1947 and had four children who survive. 
Mrs. Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, sewing, reading and learning new crafts. She made her own patterns. 
She always liked having flowers around her home and would put out new plants each spring. 
She loved to travel and never turned down the chance to go for a "buggy ride." 
Her greatest joy was spending time with members of her family. 
Having grown up during the Great Depression years, she was adept at preserving her own produce each season. 
Survivors include her brother Douglas Vaden; her children Jon Krauss, Janell Costello, and Mark and Holly Daniel; daughter-in-law Theresa Daniel; grandchildren Mario and Daniel Cobian, Tessie, Kacy and Aaron Daniel, Jon Krauss Jr., and Sharon Findlay; great-grandson Vaden Krauss; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her husband and brothers Ralph and L. B. Vaden.
