Mrs. Thomas M. Britt, a pioneer resident of Mills county and for many years a resident, of the neighborhood northwest of Malvern, passed away last Thursday at the home of her son, Ray, in Milnor. No. Dak, after a brief illness. After short services here tbe body was brought to Malvern Saturday and funeral services were held in tbe First Baptist church, of which she was a life long member,
Saturday afternoon at 8 o'clock. Rev. L. R, Bobbitt, the pastor, conducted the services and preached the sermon. Vernon Bobbitt sang. Burial was in the Malvern cemetery by the side of the husband who preceded her so many years ago. The pall bearers were George Douglas, Harvey Douglas,
Ora Douglas, Charles Vestal, Scott Arterburn, and L. M. Kline, The following obituary was given; Sophrotta B. Hollaway, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry M. Hollaway, was born in Missouri, Jan, 28, 1860 and departed this life at the home of her son, Ray, near Milnor, No. Dak., Jan. 18, 1933, aged eighty-two years, eleven months, and thirteen days. When a small child she came with her parents to Fremont county, Iowa, near Thurman where she grew to womanhood, She was married Sept. 12, 1867 to James J. Dunlap and they moved to a farm in Sliver Creek township in Mills county where they made their home for many years. To this union were born seven children: William of Sioux Falls, So. Dak.. Ray of Milnor No. Dak.. Harry of Emerson, and Mrs. Pearl Holt of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Katharine Searies of Detroit, who preceded her in death some five years ago. Edgar and Emma who died in infancy. The three sons were present at the funeral. She was married to Thomas M. Britt in (unable to read) who died Jan 13 1906.
