Notes
Birth
Spion Kop, Judith Basin County, Montana, is apparently named for the Battle of Spion Kop (fought in 1900 during the Boer War in South Africa), Spion Kop is located along the former Great Northern line east of Raynesford. A post office opened at Spion Kop in 1906 (March 31) with Jennie Mathers as postmaster. It was active until 1933 (August 15), with the exception of a few months of inactivity in 1909. A couple of abandoned shacks appear to be all that is left of Spion Kop today.Marriage
