Theodore “Ted�?Ivory Hall, Jr., 81, of Tama, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at his home due to a sudden illness. A Memorial Service with Masonic Rites will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Living Faith United Methodist Church in Tama with Pastor Brian Oliver officiating. Interment will be held at a future date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Theodore was born on July 6, 1931, in Hamburg, Iowa, the son of Theodore Ivory and Helen (McPherron) Hall Sr. He graduated from Tabor High School. He received his Bachelor Degree from Iowa State in Ag Education. Ted served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On May 29, 1956, he was united in marriage to Shirley Stanley in Thurman, Iowa. Ted retired as a soil conservationist for the State of Iowa. He also sold monuments for Kahlin-Johnson and sold insurance. He was a member of Living Faith United Methodist Church in Tama, Hiram of Tyre Masonic Lodge #118 and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, Tama American Legion and VFW, and Tabor Historical Society. He was also in the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Band, El Kahir Band, Marshalltown Band, Iowa Veterans Band, and Tama County Band. Ted was formerly a Tama City councilman and Tama Ambulance crew member. He loved to play drums in several bands and attend his Shriner activities. Ted’s favorite thing to do was telling stories and jokes. Preceding him in death were his parents; a son Theodore Ivory Hall, III; and one brother, Arnold Hall. Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Shirley of Tama; two daughters, Lori (Jeff) Lacina of Olathe, KS, and Melissa (Darin Davis) Rodriguez of Windsor Heights; four grandchildren, Grant Theodore Lacina, Ivory Frances Lacina and Maxwell Lacina, and Grayson Sinning; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Shriners Hospital in Minneapolis, MN or Living Faith United Methodist Church.
