The Rev. Dr. James Dayton McCormick of Sequim died at age 93. Cause of death is pending.
He was born in Harrisburg, Ill., to Lowdon and Bessie (Glass) McCormick.
A graduate of the University of Illinois, he received his master's degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and a doctorate of divinity from Hanover College in Hanover, Ind.
During World War II, he served in the Navy and was assigned duty with the Marine Corps for the Okinawa Campaign.
He filled pastorates in Cleveland and Mount Vernon, both in Ohio, and was pastor of Central Presbyterian Church in Lafayette, Ind., for 25 years.
The Rev. Dr. McCormick finished his ministerial career with nine years as associate minister for St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Tucson, Ariz., where he was elected Emeritus.
His first marriage, to Maxine Gebhardt, ended with her death in 1970. His second marriage to Ruth Swarm ended with her death in 1990.
He and his third wife, the former Evelyn Morrison, summered in Sequim for 10 years before becoming permanent residents two years ago.
She died in 2003.
He worshipped at Sequim Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Jim and Laura McCormick of Chicago; son Tom McCormick of Toronto; daughter Jane McCormick of Naples, Fla.; brother Carroll McCormick of Cleveland; and five grandchildren.
Services: Memorial to be announced. Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel, Sequim, is in charge of arrangements.

Lieutenant CHC USNRHe may have been relocated to Tucson church cemetery later so I put a link to the other cemetery on both memorials. He is definitely in a cremains niche at St. Andrews...not just a plaque on the wall.

SSN was issued in Indiana between 1954-1955; last residence was Sequim, Clallam, Washington.He may have been relocated to Tucson church cemetery later so I put a link to the other cemetery on both memorials.
