Ruth L. Young Madewell, age 82, of Elkhart, Texas died March 25, 2010 at Palestine Regional Medical Center in Palestine, Texas. Burial at Roselawn Park is under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home, Palestine. She was born December 15, 1927 in Jacksonville, Texas, the daughter of the late Alonzo O. and Alma Young. Mrs. Madewell was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri Lynn Madewell in 2007. Mrs. Madewell is survived by her husband, A.G. Madewell; sister, Shirley Fletcher; brother, John Young; grandchildren, Jason S. Benton, and April D. Benton; and three great-grandchildren.
