Melinda Almira Frasier

Melinda Almira Frasier was born in April 1811 in Newberry County, South Carolina. She married Royal Alden at the age of 21 on December 25, 1827 in Newberry County. Melinda & Royal had five sons born in Newberry County, South Carolina before they began their migration to Illinois about 1836, they were: George Marcus Alden, Samuel Alvin Alden, William Levi Alden, James Luther Alden and John Spencer Alden. Both James Luther and John Spencer Alden did not survive past the age of 2. Melinda & Royal began their migration west about 1836. While living in Kingston, Roane County, Tennessee they had their sixth child, Andrew Jackson Alden, born in 1837. Early in 1838 they continued west and eventually settled in Hamilton County, Illinois near the town of McLeansboro about 1838. They were living near Melinda's brother, John & Catherine (Duval) Frasier and their family. After settling in Hamilton County, Illinois, Melinda and Royal had three more children: Warren Franklin Alden, Sarah Priscilla Alden and Charles Timothy Alden. Just 10 days after the birth of their ninth child, Charles Timothy Alden, Melinda Almira (Frasier) Alden passed away at the age of 32. She is buried on private property near the town of McLeansboro, Hamilton County, Illinois.
