James graduated from Gothenburg High School and the niversity of Nebraska. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta, he served in the United States Army, and he was a longtime teacher in Waverly, Nebraska. He also taught in Rifle, Colorado, Gothenburg and Benkelman, Nebraska.
James left behind son Matt Norsworthy, daughter-in-law Davi Ann Norsworthy, grandson Noel Norsworthy, of Lincoln, Nebraska, niece Ann Weekley of Lake Placid Florida, and Nephew Ross Ostergard of Cozad, Nebraska. He was proceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia, brother John Norsworthy, sister Mary Ostergard, brother-in-law Jack Ostergard, and much loved son, Doug.
