Charles was the son of Thomas Loving, born in 1610, and came to America in 1638. Thomas was surveyor general of Virginia, a member of the House of Burgesses in 1644, 1657 and 1658. Thomas and family lived in Martins Hundred, VA and was a merchant. Thomas married Elizabeth Kingston Oct, 1639 and had three children, Charles, Ann and Edward. Thomas died in 1665 or '66.
