EASTON, Conn. – Phillip Peter Petron of Easton died May 7 with his wife Elaine at his side. He was 80.
Petron was an elected member of the Easton Board of Finance for many years.
He was born on Sept. 11, 1931, in New York City. Petron graduated from New York University and Stevens Institute of Technology. He was retired from Xerox Corp., where he worked as a manager of strategic services for 30 years. He continued working with the company as a product development consultant after his retirement.
A Freemason, Petron was a Korean War veteran. He was also a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; three sons, Peter Petron and wife Emily Kerns of Fairfield, Drs. Alexander Petron and wife Marion of Bedford, N.H. and Christopher Petron and wife Jennifer of Simsbury; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Bridgeport, officiated by the Rev. Andreas Vithoulkas. Burial with full military honors will follow at Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Commerce Hill Funeral Home in Bridgeport, with services at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or a favorite charity.
