KLADIS, Freda 94, of Temple Terrace, passed away very peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. She was born in Canton, OH on Jan. 7, 1918. She was the only child of George and Angelique Goglos. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Theodore "Ted." She is survived by three children Cindy Xenick (George), Maria Stavracos (Jim) and George Kladis (Charlene); eight grandchildren Mike Xenick (Maria), Nicole Chaconas (Lou), Angelique Xenick, Ted Stavracos (Susan), Dean Xenick (Maria), T.K. She also had many many special nieces and nephews throughout the country who loved her as "Thea Freda" and sisters-in-law, Anna Demas and Kay Kladakis. She was a very "special and spirited" Mom, grandmother "Yiayia Freda" and great-grandmother, "Big Yiayia." A caring, generous person who did not know a stranger. As an only child, she said she always wanted a "Big Fat Greek Family" and God granted her that wish. Our Mom was also a fabulous Greek cook, businesswoman and a faithful and devout Orthodox Christian, who always worked for her church not only here in Tampa, but in her home town, Canton, OH. She and husband Ted owned and operated "Ted's Restaurant" in Canton for over 30 years. After retiring to Tampa, she and Ted traveled all over visiting family in California, NY and Greece. Travels also included Alaska, Las Vegas and Europe.
A Divine Liturgy Service will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 am, visitation from 10:30-11:15 and the Funeral service will begin at 11:15 am. Pallbearers will be her eight grandchildren Mike, Nicole, Angelique, Ted, Dean, T.K., Demetrios and Christina. Entombment will follow in Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John Greek Orthodox Church, The St. John's Philoptochos Ladies Society, and to LifePath Hospice Melech House, in Temple Terrace.
