MORFOGEN--Christine (nee Christakos), 91, of Fort Lee, formerly of New York, Teaneck and Glen Rock, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at her daughter's home in Glen Rock. Beloved wife of the late James G. Loving mother of Elaine, George, and the late James Morfogen. Cherished grandmother of Kristine, her husband John Carlberg, and Alexander John Morfogen. Loving great grandmother of Cole and Samantha Carlberg. Adored sister of Theodore and his late wife Gladys, of Lakewood, N.J., Catherine and her husband Robert Taylor of North Carolina, and the late Stella, Chris, Gus and, George. Loved and adored by her many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, family and friends. Christine was raised in Pompton Lakes, NJ by her parents, Pauline and Peter and with her four brothers and two sisters. Christine was a member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. John the Theologian in Tenafly, and was very involved in the fundraising campaign to erect this cathedral. Christine also attended the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Wyckoff. Christine was a member of the Parthenon University Chapter of Eastern Star. She was employed by Lord & Taylor's flagship store in New York and worked in the Bill and Order Room for the Buyers from 1970 to 1990. Christine was a loving, caring, giving, gentle, and gracious lady. Always with a smile, always positive, she brought joy and happiness to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her love, kindness, generosity, guidance, support, and encouragement. Christine was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be missed. Contributions in her memory may be made to a charity or organization of your choice. Funeral service Saturday, November 6, 2004, 10AM at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Wyckoff, NJ. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. The family will receive their friends Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Inc., 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ.
