Our mother was born, married, and had eight children in Taygeti (Barsinikos) and in 1968 her last child was born in Taygeti and in January 3rd 1972 immigrated to America to give a better life to her children. But her dream was to come back and live in her village. My siblings and I renovated our home in the village for her to live comfortably and finally rest. But she did not succeed, she could not stand the behavior and the treatment of the "state" as if she were an "insignificant stranger." This was not the Greece and the village she had left behind, and she wanted so much to come back to. With a heavy heart she returned to America but with gladness in seeing her children again, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She left for her last trip on March 26th 2020 11:56 Chicago USA. Rest in Peace mom.
