James John Londis
(29 Mar 1887 - 27 Feb 1966)
My father is one of the four sons of Basil George Aridas (a son of George Mihali). The sons are George, Nicholas, Christie, and James. I am the daughter of Nicholas Aridas. He married Helen Londis, daughter of James John Londis (Ladopoulos) [son of John Londis and Eleni Sakellarides] and Poletimi (Pauline) Chrisomalis [daughter of Leonidas Chrisomalis and Konstantina Gavaris. My father (Nicholas) and mother (Helen) had three children, myself, and the twins: James and William (baptized Basil).
Also, my Ladopoulos side is descended from Archimandrite Athanasios Ladopoulos, a founder of the Monastery of Faneromeni in Anavryti: http://www.sparti.gr/index.php/en/churches-a-monasteries/item/216-monastery-pf-faneromeni/216-monastery-pf-faneromeni
Connie Ioannidis: My great grandfather is the archimandrite (buried at the church in Anavryte). My gandfather (his son) was James John Londis (translated to English at Ellis Island from Ladis, phonetically - Lathis. He Married Poletimi Chrisomalis (also from Anavryti) in New York about l914. Two of their 5 children, Helen (my mom) is 95 living in N.Y. and John, 96, living in Boca Raton, Florida. Eleni Sakellarides (note spelling) was my grandfather's (james John) mother. Hence, my mother is Helen. A family in Ayios Ioannis (village below Anavryti) is surnamed Aridas.
